Mercedes-Benz Red Car in Front of GOAT Theatre Sign

When it comes to automobiles, some have called Mercedes-Benz the “GOAT” – which stands for the “greatest of all time.” After all, each Mercedes-Benz model offers “The Best or Nothing” without compromise. It makes sense that Mercedes-Benz plays a huge part in the new Sony Pictures Animation film called GOAT.

This collaboration aligns with the theme of the movie: “There is a place for those who dream.” GOAT follows the dream of Will, a determined young goat who refuses to accept the limitations put upon him while pursuing the dream of playing basketball. In the case of the movie, they call it “roar ball.” It is described as a high-intensity, co-ed, full-contact sport dominated by the world’s fastest, fiercest animals.

Will is voiced by actor Caleb McLaughlin in this film co-produced by NBA superstar Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors. McLaughlin and Curry’s voices are also joined by Gabrielle Union, Nicola Coughlan, Nick Kroll, David Harbour, Jenifer Lewis, Aaron Pierre, Patton Oswalt, Andrew Santino, Bobby Lee, Eduardo Franco, Sherry Cola, Jelly Roll, and Jennifer Hudson.

These voice actors and their animated characters share the screen with three Mercedes‑Benz models: the all-new 2026 CLA 250+, the all-new electric GLC SUV, and the Sprinter van. The 2026 CLA also appears in a 30-second commercial promoting the movie, featuring a family leaving a screening of GOAT and capturing the imagination of a young girl.

Silver Mercedes-Benz Behind two GOAT Characters

Through imagination comes a dream that resonates through this animated film. This is why the 2026 CLA 250+ was selected for the collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and Sony Pictures Animation. The 2026 CLA delivers an all-electric experience at an attainable price point. Offering space for up to five people, the 2026 CLA features next-generation technology, including a new Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX), and a cockpit designed for driving pleasure.

The 2026 CLA 250+ with EQ Technology delivers efficiency and performance from a single rear-mounted electric motor, putting out 268 horsepower and capable of sprinting from 0-60 MPH in 6.6 seconds. Energy comes from an 85-kilowatt-hour battery that is recharged through a NACS port. It is rated to return a 10-80% state of charge in 22 minutes at a speed of 320 kilowatts. The EPA has rated the 2026 CLA 250+ for a range of 374 miles. You can still charge your 2026 CLA via a J1772 plug with a Level 2 charger.

The new 2026 CLA has already captured the imagination of Europe’s automotive media, as it was just named their Car of the Year for 2026. It also earned high marks in Euro NCAP crash tests.

The next-generation GLE will arrive later this year with an all-electric driveline. You can still get the Sprinter van in an electric version, as well.
