Introducing the Extraordinarily New 2027 GLC with EQ Technology

The GLC has been the best-selling Mercedes-Benz model worldwide for several years, which is likely why the company introduced many new technologies and concepts, along with a new design language, in the all-new 2027 GLC with EQ Technology model. This vehicle is expected to arrive at Mercedes-Benz of Plano and other dealerships in the second half of 2026.
The electric GLC clearly signals a bold new direction for Mercedes-Benz from the moment you see its face. It is the first model in the lineup to feature this chrome-finished, illuminated, high-tech front, but it won’t be the last. The brand’s iconic 3-point star appears throughout the exterior, including the daytime running lights (DRLs) in the headlights and the illuminated segment of the round taillights. The Sensual Purity design language extends along the profile, featuring a sleek, aerodynamic roof over sculptural shoulder lines and prominent wheel arches.

The available MBUX HYPERSCREEN is the focal point inside the vehicle. The all-new seamless 39.1-inch MBUX HYPERSCREEN is the largest continuous screen ever in a Mercedes-Benz. Its high resolution, combined with innovative matrix-backlight technology, offers exceptional clarity. Along with up to 11 new display styles, this technology provides a distinctive digital elegance, creating a fully immersive interior experience.
The large screen runs on the fourth-generation MBUX, the world’s first in-car infotainment system to include artificial intelligence (AI) from both Microsoft and Google. This opens up new possibilities for personalized experiences and smooth interaction between the vehicle and its occupants. The MBUX Virtual Assistant uses a “Multi Agent Approach,” combining AI tools from Microsoft and Google. It smartly chooses the best source for each task, even during the same conversation, drawing on collective internet knowledge. For users, engaging with the MBUX Virtual Assistant feels like talking to a friend—offering detailed answers and follow-up responses without needing to repeat information. The front passenger has access to a wide range of infotainment options, including multiple apps, video streaming, and direct access to Disney+.

The available HYPERSCREEN doesn’t need to be used for everything, thanks in part to an entirely new steering wheel design. The new design includes controls that are more ergonomic and easier to use, including, by popular demand, the return of the rocker and roller volume controls.
Leather has long been a popular choice for luxury vehicle seating and trim, and the new GLC offers both base and Nappa surfaces. However, animal skin isn’t suitable for everyone, so the GLC introduces its Vegan Package, which features the first interior certified by the Vegan Society to contain no animal-derived products throughout the cabin, from the carpet to the headliner. The electric drivetrain allows for a 3.3-inch longer wheelbase compared to the gas-powered GLC, which immediately provides 1.9 inches more rear legroom. Headroom also increases by 1.8 inches at the front and 0.6 inches at the rear, depending on the roof.
Look up in the cabin to see the available MAGIC SKY CONTROL® panoramic roof features, including switchable glass that can go from transparent to translucent with the push of a button. It can also create an impressive night effect with 162 illuminated stars (three-pointed, of course) embedded in the glass.

Below the cabin lies the all-new lithium-ion battery with 94 kWh of usable capacity. This high-density battery is designed with maintenance and repair in mind, as the electronics and electrical units are accessible and replaceable from below. This allows for quick diagnosis and, if necessary, targeted replacement of electronic components—without the need to disassemble the entire battery. The initial launch model will be a range-topping model, featuring both a front and rear motor for AWD and 483 horsepower. The estimated range is up to 443 miles on the European test cycle. Moreover, the system features an 800-volt electrical architecture that enables exceptionally fast charging, allowing for 188 miles of travel in just 10 seconds.
The 2027 GLC with EQ Technology includes a TERRAIN drive mode for use on dirt or gravel roads, which automatically engages the front axle and adjusts the drivetrain, steering, and brakes accordingly. Vehicles with optional DIGITAL LIGHT will also activate the off-road light, providing wide illumination for improved obstacle detection. Additionally, it offers a towing capacity of up to 5,291 pounds when equipped with the optional trailer hitch and standard ESP® trailer stabilization system. E-bike enthusiasts will appreciate the 220-lb drawbar load, which enables the transport of e-bikes on suitable carriers.

This just scratches the surface. Other features, such as the available Optional AIRMATIC® air suspension from the S-Class, rear wheel steering, and the One-box braking system that optimizes regenerative braking while providing a seamless experience for the driver, will all be discussed in more detail before the model becomes available.
The GLC with EQ Technology is a bold new model that introduces several new features and advancements, and Mercedes-Benz chose to debut them on this competitively priced model.
