Introducing the All-New Electric C-Class

Full electrification has come to one of Mercedes-Benz’s most popular models, the C-Class, and it is everything appreciators of the C-Class and/or EVs could hope for. It is an all-new vehicle yet still provides the combination of sportiness and luxury for which the C-Class has always been known. Mercedes-Benz of Planopresents this C-Class EV introduction.
“The all-new electric C‑Class is redefining the mid-size segment for electric vehicles. Customers will get exactly what they expect from this new version of the beloved model: the perfect blend of performance, comfort, dynamics, and intelligence. On top of that, it is the most powerful and sportiest C‑Class we’ve ever built, offering pure driving pleasure and outstanding real-world range – all while being the perfect sanctuary for our customer.” – Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management, Mercedes‑Benz Group AG.
Amazing New Engineering
In true sport sedan fashion, the first available trim, the C 400 4MATIC® Electric, features a permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PSM) on the rear axle. Unusual for an EV, the drivetrain includes a two-speed transmission. The first gear features a short 11:1 ratio, providing quick acceleration from a stop and improved efficiency in city driving. The second gear, with a 5:1 ratio, is optimized for power at higher speeds and better fuel economy on highways, offering good range and comfort on long trips. Shift points are determined by the driving conditions and the chosen DYNAMIC SELECT drive program.
A second motor is at the front axle that functions as a “Boost” drive. For efficiency, this motor is usually disconnected. This reduces losses on the front axle by up to 90 percent and increases the range. The motors are supplied by a 94-kWh lithium-ion battery located below the cabin floor. The total system amounts to 482 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque.
Thanks to the motors’ high instantaneous torque and the two-speed transmission’s short first-gear ratio, Mercedes-Benz claims a 0-60 mph time of 3.9 seconds. Range is 473 miles (762 km) on the European WLTP circuit. EPA testing typically yields 85-90% of the WLTP figure, which, using the conservative figure, is an estimated EPA range of 402 miles.
At the same time, the 800-volt electrical architecture enables fast DC direct charging of up to 330 kW at 800-volt charging stations, which amounts to about gaining 202 miles in about 10 minutes. Of course, a DC converter is standard to enable charging at 400-volt charging stations.
While 4-wheel discs remain, the regenerative braking is robust enough to handle almost all braking operations, even bringing the vehicle to a complete stop. The driver can adjust the level of recuperation using the steering wheel shift paddles.
The electric C-Class elevates ride quality and agility, handling curves with precision and delivering S-Class-level comfort on long trips. The 116.6-inch wheelbase extends 3.8 inches beyond the gas-powered C-Class, smoothing the highway ride and providing additional interior room. An optional AIRMATIC® air suspension and 4.5-degree rear steering expand the range between ‘Comfort’ and ‘Sport’ modes.
Spectacular Design
Of course, there is more to the C-Class Electric than the drivetrain and chassis. The sloping rear roofline gives the profile a distinct coupe-like silhouette and a possible drag coefficient of 0.22. The classic radiator grille is up front, featuring an illuminated center logo that, as an option, can be accompanied by 1,050 pinpoints of light. The tail lights are inspired by the AMG® GT model and feature Mercedes-Benz logo lighting elements.
The all-new cabin offers three screen configurations. For those who prefer simplicity, there is a 10.3-inch configurable driver display and a 14-inch center touchscreen. The second MBUX Superscreen configuration adds another 14-inch touchscreen for the front passenger. And then there is the all-new MBUX Hyperscreen, which combines everything into one seamless 39.1-inch screen spanning between the HVAC vents on each side.
Mercedes-Benz raises the bar in the use of vegan materials and becomes the first automaker globally to offer an independently certified vegan interior. Initially introduced in the all-electric GLC, the new electric C-Class is now the second vehicle worldwide to offer a vegan interior certified by The Vegan Society. The Vegan Package encompasses all soft-touch surfaces inside the vehicle, including seat upholstery, the headliner, pillars, door panels, and carpeting.
Of course, Nappa leather is also available and features a unique “Twisted Diamond” seat surface design. An innovative multi-source heat pump can heat seats twice as fast as a conventional gas-powered engine system while using half the energy.

Ambient lighting has also been taken to a new level with 11 high-resolution ambient styles that let you personalize the interior ambiance beyond color selection. The lighting can even be set to react to the available Burmester®* 3D and 4D Surround Sound Systems. It can even extend to the panoramic roof. The panoramic roof is standard, but with the SKU CONTROL option, it can be electronically dimmed and feature 162 subtly illuminated tri-stars that match the ambient lighting.
The comprehensive set of driver assistance technologies encompasses MB.DRIVE Standard, along with additional features such as Digital Extra: Distance Assist DISTRONIC®. Optional Digital Extras, including MB.DRIVE ASSIST and MB.DRIVE ASSIST PRO provides further advanced driver support capabilities. The “CITY PRO” feature, designed to facilitate a seamless point-to-point driving experience—including in congested urban traffic—will be accessible at a future date.

This just provides a top line of what the new C-Class Electric has to offer. With amazing acceleration, long range, quick charging, composed ride and handling, and spectacular interior features, the C-Class Electric reinvents the sport luxury sedan category. The model can be expected to arrive in the Mercedes-Benz of Plano inventory in the first half of 2027. Contact one of our sales professionals to inform you of their initial arrival so you can be the first to explore and possibly own this remarkable new model from Mercedes-Benz.
