​​How Does the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC Compare to the Lexus NX?​ 

The compact SUV segment is among the most competitive in the automotive industry today. When you add the finest nameplates into the conversation, the stakes get higher – especially when consumers demand the perfect blend of versatility, value, and luxury. 

One of the leaders in this segment is the Lexus NX, thanks in no small part to its sharp, contemporary design, and a wide variety of available powertrains and trim levels. However, the N isn’t the only contender in this highly-contested segment: in fact, we think the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC outclasses and outperforms the Lexus on several levels, and should be on your shopping list. In fact, after recently comparing the GLC to the NX, the experts at J.D. Power recently drew a similar conclusion.

Getting what you need is easy with its zero-layer menu system, along with a simple “Hey, Mercedes” voice command that recognizes your natural voice. With seating for up to five people, you can carry plenty in the back with up to 56.3 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded down.  

In a recent comparison by J.D. Power, they used the 2026 GLC 350e 4MATIC® SUV. This plug-in hybrid is motivated by a combination of a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with an electric motor that can be recharged for an electric-only range rated at 54 miles. It does take a DC Fast Charger through its CCS plug to fill its battery. In fact, using a DC Fast Charger at a 60-kilowatt speed takes just 30 minutes to go from 10% to 80% state of charge.  

The combined 313 horsepower rating means it can scoot on the highway quickly while making trips across the Metroplex easy. In fact, it is rated to sprint from 0-60 MPH in just 6.3 seconds. You also get the standard traction from its 4MATIC®all-wheel drive system.  

In this comparison with the Lexus NX, J.D. Power found that the GLC “is the best value among the two models, offering Mercedes-Benz prestige, [and] a larger cabin.” They also called out the MBUX for its “innovative V2X [voice to everything] system [that] provides the GLC with a slight advantage in [infotainment and technology].”
