The 2025 CLE 53 features a 48-volt mild-hybrid system attached to the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six that produces 443 horsepower and 416 lb-ft of torque, with a 10-second overboost function that increases torque to 443 lb-ft. The engine is mated to an AMG® SPEEDSHIFT® nine-speed automatic transmission and puts power to all four wheels via the advanced AMG® Performance 4MATIC+® all-wheel-drive system. Between the hybrid system, substantial power and torque, the fast-shifting transmission, and all-wheel drive, the AMG® CLE 53 is a force to be reckoned with whether in a straight line or around tight curves.

Inside, the AMG® CLE 53 sports a 12.3-inch digital instrument gauge display alongside an 11.9-inch infotainment touchscreen that features standard navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay®, and Android Auto®. Simply saying “Hey, Mercedes” brings the brilliant MBUX to life. It can do just about anything you ask of it, including reading the news to you, changing radio stations or the air conditioning, and more. Because convertibles allow lots of natural light in when the top is down, Mercedes-Benz engineers made the infotainment screen able to change between a 15- and 40-degree angle to minimize reflections. The Burmester®* 3D surround sound system provides you with a rolling concert hall with the top up or down.
Pricing and Trunk Space
With a base price of $83,750**, the Mercedes-AMG® CLE 53 Cabriolet is just $6,800 more than the non-AMG® CLE 450 Cabriolet, making the AMG® a genuine bargain for its performance, looks, features, and sportiness. And even though it is sporty, the AMG® CLE can still handle a good bit of luggage. With the top up, you’ll have a solid 13.6 cubic feet of trunk space. With the top down, that only goes down to 10.4 cubic feet, which is plenty for weekend getaways.
How Loud Is it with the Top Down?
A convertible is a nice car to have, but depending on where you live, you may not be able to enjoy it as much. Many convertibles allow a lot of wind and road noise to make their way into the cabin. The CLE, however, does not really have this problem, according to MotorTrend, as it found: “If the weather takes a turn and you need to drive with the top up, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how quiet the cabin is when closed. Thanks to a multilayered fabric roof designed to keep exterior noise at bay, we could hold a conversation without having to raise our voices significantly.
