Power and Fuel Economy
The E 350 model comes equipped with a 2.0-liter inline-four with a turbocharger and a 48-volt mild hybrid system that puts out 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The E 450 gets a 3.0-liter straight-six that is also turbocharged with a mild-hybrid and makes 375 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. All models have a 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic transmission. The 350 with rear-wheel drive achieves an EPA-estimated 25 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. The 4MATIC® all-wheel-drive model loses just 1 mpg in the city. The E 450 with its extra power and torque still gets 22 mpg (city) and 31 (highway).
A Brilliant Interior
Once seated inside, you are greeted with soft touch points, comfortable seats, and plenty of space for taller passengers. The ambient lighting will keep you in a good, upbeat mood. For environmentally conscious customers, the seat cushions are made from recycled materials, which serves to lessen the company’s reliance on fossil fuels and non-renewable materials in its cars.
Superscreen and A.I. Built In
Standard on all models is a 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen that can be optioned with a 12.3-inch screen for the front passenger, creating what Mercedes-Benz calls the Superscreen that spans 26.7 inches total. Plus, drivers also have a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. Thanks to artificial intelligence and MBUX, occupants can talk to the E-Class and request it to do certain tasks, such as changing the radio, air conditioning, or asking for directions or news information, and so much more. Mercedes-Benz even added a special feature called routines that the system learns over time, adapting the vehicle to your needs.
