Adding AMG® performance gives the E-Class wagon that huge kick to make your journey a spirited one—whether it is a grocery run or a highway cruise. Motivation for the E 53 Hybrid Wagon comes from a hand-crafted turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with a hybrid electric motor. It is rated to deliver 577 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque.
Since it is a plug-in hybrid, there is a 21.2-kilowatt-hour battery on board that prioritizes electric power before the gasoline engine kicks in. You can also enable both power sources together for the maximum driving experience.
Extra performance comes from enabling RACESTART®, a program that enables a form of launch control for an extra edge off the mark. Raising the performance number to 604 horsepower, Mercedes-AMG® clocked the E 53 Hybrid Wagon at 3.8 seconds from 0-60 mph. You can get the RACESTART® program as part of the AMG® DYNAMIC PLUS Package.
In addition to RACESTART®, the AMG® DYNAMIC PLUS Package also includes carbon ceramic brakes, active engine mounts, and an electronically controlled limited-slip rear differential. You will also find interior enhancements through this package, including leather-microfiber elements throughout the cabin.
To round out the E 53 Hybrid Wagon dynamic experience, it comes with standard 20-inch alloy wheels with a set of 21-inch wheels as an option. AMG® RIDE CONTROL gives you options as to the kind of driving vibe you want while racking up the miles. Plus, the agility of rear-axle steer delivers a tighter maneuver when needed.
