When it comes to battery electric cars, the importance of range is more ambiguous than one might expect. If a car is charged from home and used as a commuter, the range is probably not that important as long as the car covers the commute round trip with a fair amount of miles to spare. However, if a car is expected to be the touring vehicle of the household, which is probably a reasonable expectation of the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, the range can become quite important. Thus, Mercedes-Benz of Plano is pleased to announce that the EQS SUV range has significantly increased.
The change in the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV's range is not just a result of a larger battery pack but also a testament to our continuous technological advancements. The old 108.4 kWh pack has been replaced by a 118 kWh pack, a 9% increase in size. This, along with other improvements, has significantly enhanced the vehicle's range, ensuring a more efficient and powerful driving experience.
The EQS 450+ has the lowest percentage increase because it also switches from standard 20-inch wheels to 21-inch wheels, which impacts efficiency. In terms of the efficiency rating, which, like miles per gallon, rates the expected distance traveled per unit of energy, all EQS 450 and EQS 580 models are rated to use 406 watt-hours per mile in combined city and highway traveled. This translates to an MPG equivalent of 83 MPGe. Obviously, that is a figure far beyond what an internal combustion engine can achieve in this size vehicle.

Despite the increase in range, the price of the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is largely unchanged. The starting MSRP is $105,550* for the EQS and $108,550* for the 4MATIC® model, which includes the $1,150 destination charge. The price of the EQS 580 SUV has gone up by $1,400 to $128,500*.
Such six-figure prices confirm that the EQS line is not for everyone, but it is certainly in line with the most technologically sophisticated SUVs in the Mercedes-Benz model line. Now that the EQS SUV delivers more than before, visit Mercedes-Benz of Plano and take a close look at the amazing all-electric SUV lineup.
