Mercedes-Benz is a global leader in luxury gasoline-powered and electric-powered vehicles. Together with MN8 Energy, Mercedes-Benz is launching their first EV charging hub at their U.S. headquarters in Sandy Springs, GA. The brand has plans for more hubs opening throughout Texas and the Southeastern United States by the end of 2023.

Money Well Spent

Mercedes-Benz is committed to spending $1 billion on the network with MN8 Energy, and delivering 2,500 chargers to at least 400 charging hubs across the country by the end of the decade. Several hubs will open by year’s end at Buc-ee’s travel center locations in Texas, Florida, Alabama, and Georgia. In 2024, Mercedes-Benz will open hubs at Simon Mall locations to provide further convenience to EV owners.

All EVs Are Welcome

Customers with an electric vehicle from any brand will be able to top up their vehicle’s charge at any of the Mercedes-Benz hubs. While there, drivers can enjoy a uniquely Mercedes-Benz experience that features a charging lounge, allowing customers to appreciate a comfortable environment to wait for their vehicle to finish charging. Each hub will feature couches, lounge chairs, vending machines, as well as refreshments and restrooms.

400kW Chargers + Convenience

The actual charging stations will be ChargePoint chargers that will have charging rates up to 400kW, which will be some of the fastest speeds anywhere in the country. A solar canopy will shield users from rain, snow, or harsh sunlight, and will provide LED overhead lighting. Driving up to the station, drivers will notice 15-foot tall pylons that will display how many spots are free, reserved, or in-use, allowing customers to feel confident where to pull up to when they drive in. Each hub will also feature at least one handicap spot that is closest to the lounge, along with a drive-through spot for electric vans and EVs towing trailers.

"With the official launch of the Mercedes-Benz Charging Network in North America, we aim to set a new standard for a quality charging experience for the entire industry," said Andrew Cornelia, President & CEO of Mercedes-Benz HPC North America LLC. "Our driver-first network will deliver some of the fastest charging speeds and will be openly accessible to all EV drivers from day one."

A Leading Partner

By partnering with MN8 Energy, a leader in renewable energy, all of the Mercedes-Benz charging hubs will be carbon neutral and use renewable energy for both direct and indirect uses.

"At the onset of MN8's partnership with Mercedes-Benz to build an unparalleled charging experience, we shared a vision of bringing the decarbonized future faster," said Jon Yoder, President and CEO of MN8 Energy. "The incredible speed with which we've made that vision a reality, demonstrated by the inauguration of the charging experience here at Mercedes-Benz USA Headquarters and the sites that will follow later this year, is a testament to the strength of our purpose and outstanding abilities of our teams."
