MBUX Voice Assistant Smart Home Function

"Hey Mercedes, is there anybody in my home right now?" That is all you need to say to your MBUX Voice Assistant to discover what is happening at home. This feature is currently available, and it supports many devices such as Philips Hue, Samsung SmartThings, TP-Link, and certain myQ by Chamberlain Group applications, from lights, smart plugs, thermostats, and motion detectors to garage doors. 

Smart homes are the way of the future, and now that you can access your home's smart features from your Mercedes-Benz, it makes peace of mind much easier while you’re on the go. 

A smart home account is complimentary from Mercedes-Benz on vehicles equipped with the MBUX Voice Assistant. It does not cost customers anything, and there is no need to do any updates to get it working. After asking, "Hey Mercedes, connect my smart home account,” a QR code will show up in the central infotainment display so that you can scan it with your smartphone. Your accounts can also be linked in the menu option of the Mercedes me connect mobile app. 

The more devices you have on your network, the more information you can get by asking, "Hey Mercedes, is everything okay at home?" All of your home equipment will check their statuses, and the MBUX Virtual Assistant will report it back to you. The Virtual Assistant's answer could be as simple as, "All the windows are closed, and the light is still on in the bedroom." You can even ask the assistant to check your motion detectors at home. If the lights are on while you are away and you want them off, simply tell your Mercedes Virtual Assistant. Not only is it convenient, but it adds extra security and peace of mind.
