Mercedes-Benz of Plano announces the coming of the AMG® EQE SUV. This is the first all-electric SUV from Mercedes-AMG®. It is truly the one vehicle that can do it all. It has plenty of space for passengers and cargo, indulgent luxury, 617 horsepower with 677 available as a boost, and a sophisticated active suspension system. And it has zero emissions. Keep reading to learn more about this amazing vehicle.
EQE Based, but All AMG®
As with other AMG® models, the AMG® EQE SUV begins with the bones of the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV. The AMG® version immediately stands out with hot-stamped chrome vertical struts in the grille. While the Mercedes star is prominent in the grille, for the first time, on the leading edge of the hood, the star is replaced by the AMG® emblem. The AMG®-specific lower fascia features large side inlets direct air from the front to form an air curtain around the front wheels for improved aerodynamics. The wheels themselves have aerodynamically optimized designs and are available in either 21 or 22-inch diameters. They wear MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV MO1 tires, which are specifically adapted to the requirements of all-electric AMG® Performance vehicles.
The rear fascia keeps things simple in the body color area, which wears full-width taillights with a unique helix design. Down below, is an aerodynamically optimized diffuser with longitudinal fins to keep airflow clean behind the vehicle.
An AMG® Interior
The interior has many AMG® exclusives. With a choice of either MB-Tex or Nappa leather surfaces, both feature AMG®-specific patterns, red contrast stitching, and embossed AMG® emblems in the headrests. The AMG®-specific steering wheel is flat-bottomed with a perforated grip area with both paddles and controls for instant access.
The Dolby Atmos® sound format takes the audio experience to a new level in which individual instruments or voices in the studio mix can be positioned all around the listening area. With this, a new kind of sound animation becomes possible, and listening becomes a 360-degree experience.
Like the EQE, the Hyperscreen dominates the dash stretching from door to door, and embedding three separate screens within. The MBUX system adds additional AMG® performance-directed functions in the instrument cluster, multimedia display, and head-up display. A direct-entry button in the center console immediately brings up the AMG® DYNAMIC SELECT drive program, which has settings for "Slippery," "Comfort," "Sport," "Sport+," and "Individual.". These settings impact the adaptive suspension, steering torque characteristics, and available power. For instance, 50% of available power is available when set to “Slippery. Comfort and Sport access 80% and 90%, respectively, while Sport+ accesses all 617 horsepower. In addition, a RACE START setting can tap into a temporary boost, reaching 677 hp.

Two Motors, No Waiting
4MATIC® on the EQE is derived from two permanently excited synchronous motors, one in the front and another in the rear. The motors are well-cooled with a water lance in the rotor shaft, which allows for repeated high acceleration actions.
The two motors enable 4MATIC® to be fully variable all-wheel drive, with the system continuously adjusting torque from the front and rear motors depending on the driving situation. The DYNAMIC SETTINGS will adjust the system accordingly, with Sport and Sport+ settings having more rear bias.
Supplying energy to the motors is a 90.6-kWh lithium-ion battery located on the floor between the axles. The operating range has not been announced yet, but the AMG® EQE can charge at rates up to 170 kilowatts on a DC fast charger, enough to add 100 miles in 15 minutes.

Suspension Sophistication Achieves Best Of all Worlds Ride and Handling
The AMG® RIDE CONTROL suspension incorporates both air suspension and an Adaptive Damping System that can offer a relaxed ride in Comfort mode, but firms up with the driving dynamics call for it or when Sport or Sport+ is selected.
The Mercedes-AMG® EQE SUV also features standard active rear-axle steering. A rear steering angle of up to 9.0 degrees enhances handling and allows a turning radius of 35.8 ft. At speeds below 37 mph, the rear wheels steer in the opposite direction to the front wheels for a tighter turning radius in parking situations and changing direction quickly, or during low-speed maneuvers. At above 37 mph, the rear wheels steer in the same direction as the front wheels. The result is a virtually extended wheelbase that offers increased handling stability and driving safety at highway speeds as well as during fast lane changes or sudden evasive maneuvers.
"At Mercedes-AMG®, everything revolves around the extra performance and emotion that our customers seek and find with us. And these core characteristics of the brand naturally also apply to our all-electric models. We continue to focus our portfolio on electromobility. With the EQE, EQS, and now the EQE SUV, we already have three very desirable offerings in the range. They stand for top performance, driving pleasure, and dynamics. The AMG® EQE SUV is another important step towards electric mobility at AMG®." - Michael Schiebe, CEO of Mercedes-AMG® GmbH and head of business units the Mercedes-Benz G-Class & Mercedes-Maybach
