Mercedes-Benz is a global leader in making beautiful sports cars that speak to a range of consumers. The AMG® GT is one of the most desirable cars in the world, based on its looks alone. From 2015 to the present, the Mercedes-Benz AMG® GT Coupe has been an astonishing vehicle that could perform as well as or better than vehicles from brands costing as much as $100,000 more. With the introduction of the latest iteration, journalists and buyers alike have been marveling at its abilities and beauty.
A New Engine
Arriving this year as a 2025 model comes the Mercedes-AMG® GT 43 Coupe, starring the handbuilt M139 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that produces 416 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The turbocharger is powered by an onboard 48-volt electrical system derived from their Mercedes-AMG® Petronas Formula 1™ cars. While 4MATIC® all-wheel drive is standard on the AMG® GT 53 and 55 cars, the GT 43 exclusively gets rear-wheel drive as standard.
Excellent Performance
As with other AMG® models, the GT 43 Coupe will feature the blazingly quick-shifting AMG® SPEEDSHIFT® MCT 9G gearbox. Together with the M139 engine, Mercedes-Benz claims the GT 43 will be able to sprint from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds, which is faster than probably 90% of traffic on the road. However, Car and Driver took a Mercedes-AMG® C 43 sedan, with the same engine featuring a bit less horsepower, and were able to get to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. So, it is faster than probably 95% of the traffic you will encounter.
A Word From Mercedes-Benz
"Our AMG® GT family is at the top of our portfolio and embodies the spirit of our brand: Driving Performance. We are therefore delighted that this family is now growing to include the GT 43. It is clearly recognizable as a GT but is clearly different from the other models. It appeals to customers who love design and focus on elegance but are unwilling to compromise on driving pleasure and driving dynamics. The rear-wheel drive concept makes the GT 43 a very agile vehicle that will put a smile on your face on winding roads,” said Michael Schiebe, CEO of Mercedes-AMG® GmbH and Head of Business Units, Mercedes-Benz G-Class & Mercedes-Maybach.
Active Aerodynamics For Increased Performance
The new AMG® GT 43 will feature clever active aerodynamics such as AIRPANEL, which has hidden louvers behind the front grille that will open to allow more air to get into the engine to cool it, and they will remain closed at other times to reduce aerodynamic drag. The Coupe will also have an active rear spoiler that will deploy at speeds over 50 mph and then change its position from five different settings to maximize performance during sporty or track driving. The vehicle considers the straight line speed, cornering, and braking to change the pitch of the spoiler for its best use to aid in overall performance.

Adaptable Driving Dynamics
Drivers will be able to change the driving styles of the new AMG® 43 Coupe with AMG® DYNAMIC SELECT between "Slippery," "Comfort," "Sport," "Sport +," and "Individual." Together with AMG® DYNAMICS and ESP®, the new Mercedes-AMG® Coupe can give drivers a more thrilling experience when driving in a sporting manner or on a race track.
Four Seats For Extra Usability
The all-new AMG® GT features a 2+2 design, making it more suitable for daily usage, such as taking your children to school or a pet to the vet. The rear seats fold to allow for increased storage and luggage capacity, which will take the trunk space from 11.3 cu.ft. up to 23.8 cu.ft.
