Mercedes-Benz of Plano announces that the 2024 EQB all-electric compact SUV will enter its 3rd model year with some significant changes. It starts with a new face followed by additional technology including a new generation MBUX, a new audio system option, Plug & Charge capability, and more.

The EQB continues to come standard as a five-seater that can be optioned to seat seven. The 3rd row can be used for children or small adults up to 5.4 feet tall or can be platformed for child seats. The 2nd-row seats can be adjusted fore & aft by 5.5 inches to increase cargo space or adjust between 2nd- and 3rd-row passengers. When configured for maximum cargo capacity, the EQB has 60.4 or 57.2 cubic feet of space for the five and seven-seater respectively.

Upgraded Exterior Design

?

The face of the EQB has been updated to match larger EQ models with a new black grille panel that blends in with the LED headlights and has a star pattern surrounding the Mercedes-Benz tri-star badge. The LED daytime running lights on the upper border of the headlights now extend to an LED light bar across the top of the grille panel. In the rear, the full-width taillight bar now features horizontal light patterns in the side light clusters.

New MBUX and Other Interior Features

?

An all-new steering wheel design greets the driver featuring the double horizontal spoke design and touch panels of the EQE model line. Also passed down from larger EQ models are the two Sound Experiences as part of the now available Burmester® surround sound system. Two additional Sound Experiences can be purchased and activated online via the Mercedes me store.

The MBUX system has been updated and can feature subtle, sporty, and classic display designs and features improved charging displays. Through online services as part of the Mercedes me connect app, the intelligent voice assistant becomes even more capable of discerning dialogue and learning specific speech patterns.

The optional Burmester® surround sound system includes the immersive Dolby Atmos® audio experience. In addition to bringing more spatial definition, clarity, and depth to the music, Dolby Atmos® adapts to the ambient conditions, enabling listeners to hear music almost as clearly as the original vision of the artists in the studio.

New Plug & Charge Functionality

The 2024 EQB is equipped with Plug & Charge compatibility, which means when at a Plug & Charge-enabled public charging point, you simply plug the cable into the car and walk off. The charger will automatically communicate with the vehicle and facilitate charging payment and charge status through the Mercedes me app.

Improved Driving Assistance Sensor Technology

A new mono-multipurpose camera and a new backup camera are added to the sensor suite for the driver assistance systems that are part of the available Driving Assistance Package. As an example, Active Lane Keeping Assist now works more comfortably with steering intervention instead of ESP.

In summation, the EQB has gained several significant upgrades that align it more closely with the rest of the Mercedes-Benz EQ lineup, bringing a higher level of luxury to this most accessible of the EQ models. The 2024 EQB can be expected to become part of the Mercedes-Benz of Plano inventory in the first half of 2024.
