Charging Station Options In The Metroplex

 
When thinking about buying or leasing a new vehicle, there are some things you need to take into account. Of course, cost is always the most important. When considering an electric vehicle, the main question is: where can I charge it, and how long will it take? 

Texans Love EVs

In 2022, according to the Department of Energy, Texas had the 3rd highest electric vehicle registrations of all 50 states, which means that not only must EV purchases be exploding, the number of chargers must be keeping up with demand enough for people to be buying so many cars. 

How Many Chargers Are There??

According to the EV research site PlugShare, there are currently 2,405 charging stations in the Dallas, Fort Worth, and Arlington areas, including 396 Tesla Superchargers that will be updated with their new Magic Dock. The Tesla Magic Dock allows any non-Tesla to be charged at their stations. As of August 2, one specific station near Fort Worth was shown to have the new Magic Dock installed. There are also a further 157 other Fast Chargers and 427 free charging stations. Further, PlugShare says that the top charging networks in the area consist of 438 ChargePoint stations, 396 Tesla Superchargers, as mentioned before, 230 stations for Blink, and 221 stations from Volta.  

 

At the time of writing this article, there are also 194 charging stations in Plano alone.
