Mercedes-Benz USA announced this month they are launching a training program for dealership and corporate employees called Mercedes-EQ Experience. The training program focuses on educating employees on electric vehicles and increasing pride in the new sub-brand Mercedes-EQ.
The three-day training experience will be held in Alabama and will include Mercedes-Benz team members from all over the nation. With Mercedes-Benz planning on an all-electric lineup of vehicles by 2030, a major shift is happening within the brand. Dimitris Psillakis, President and CEO of MBUSA states “To help accelerate our path, we need to ensure that our people are well equipped to bring this vision to life. We hope that everyone who goes through our EQ-Experience will leave feeling fully committed and excited about being part of our journey to become the world’s most desired electric vehicle luxury brand.”
The training and education being provided will be a fully immersive event aims to give dealerships a better understanding of strategies and sustainability commitments that are driving Mercedes-Benz to look for an all-electric future. Throughout the three-day learning experience, participants will also take part in team-based competitions and other activites aimed at reinforcing the information learned in the training sessions. The itinerary is broken down in three parts: Connect, Charge up, and Electrify.
Connect: the first day features a kick-off to training with lots of high energy and opportunities for participants to network and meet peers from around the US. Charge Up: Day 2 works towards more interactive and immersive learning sessions, taking participants through future strategies, EV technologies, addressing customer experiences, and factory learning sessions at both MBUSI Plant One (Mercedes EQ vehicle assembly) and the MBUSI Battery Plant. Electrify: the third and final day takes the training out for dynamic driving experiences both on-road and on-track at Barber Motor Park. Participants will get to experience what the advanced technologies in the Mercedes-EQ vehicles are capable of behind the wheel.
