The return of a luxury sports car with a 70-year history has been dubbed the rebirth of an icon. The 2022 Mercedes-AMG SL will return to classic soft top and sporty silhouette while seamlessly integrating the state-of-the-art technology that drives the luxurious excellence of the modern Mercedes vehicles. In a press release last month, Mercedes announced that the starting pricing for the AMG SL 55 will be $137,400 and the upgraded AMG SL 63 will start from $178,100.
US Markets should expect to see two trims for the highly anticipated AMG SL: Touring and Performance. It will feature the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ AWD technology and four-wheel steering as a standard feature for both models, for an expected improvement on handling and performance. The SL 55 will be powered by a 496-hp twin-turbo V8 and the SL 63 ups the power with a 577-hp version of the same engine. With all that power, the SL 63 is estimated to reach 60 MPH in around 3.8 seconds. Mercedes also added a newly developed AMG Ride Control to assist cornering and load change behaviors, increasing ride comfort.
Luxury features include a Burmester surround sound system, massaging seats, and Surround View Camera, not to mention the Mercedes Airscarf Feature. Technology features strongly in the interior with the MBUX infotainment system on a 11.9-inch touchscreen display with adjustable angle. Navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto are all standard.

Twelve paint finishes, various Nappa leather upholstery styles, two color variants for the soft top, multiple wheel designs, and five design packages for the exterior, all come together to give the purchaser a wide selection of design choices to make their AMG SL unique.
