It is an icon of the Metroplex. A symbol of absolute status. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has provided us moments of luxury for the last 50 years and beyond.

Today, we are about to witness a new chapter in our great flagship sedan. It our showcase of things to come from Mercedes-Benz

Coming soon to Mercedes-Benz of Plano is the all-new 2021 S-Class - the most advanced sedan ever crafted.

It all starts inside with a new interior design built around the new generation of the Mercedes-Benz User Experience. The new “floating” center stack features a 12.8-inch OLED touchscreen that will be the hub of all connected and intuitive technologies in the new S-Class. In all, there are five screens on board, each with a connection to the vehicle for further customization of each passenger’s experience from audio selection to climate controls. Each passenger also has access to the voice recognition system starting with a simple “Hey Mercedes” prompt.

The driver gets a new 3D driver display, allowing for spatial perception and augmented reality. Part of the driver’s experience is the large head-up display that expands navigation functions by adding “fishbones” to help guide the driver to their destination.

There are up to 50 functions that will need updating in the lifespan of the S-Class. They can be updated using over the air connectivity. Vehicle updates use the Wi-Fi uplink to achieve this function. There would be no need to come to our dealership for these updates.

Further driver assistance features will be added to the new S-Class. One such feature enables a predictive compliance with speed limits, while another displays the operating principle of the driver assistance systems in full. Rear passengers have an additional air bag that is deployed in severe frontal collisions in a gentle manner to reduce the risk of injury.

To address another common type of collision impact, the S-Class can be equipped with PRE-SAFE Impulse Side protection. In the event of side-impact collision, the S-Class’ E-Active Body Control suspension can raise the vehicle within tenths of a second to lessen the overall impact on the car.

The mood of the cabin can be changed by color of the around 250 LED lights situated around the passenger area. These lights also serve as a function to visually warn occupants of warnings from the vehicle’s driving assistance systems.

More advances on the new S-Class are found underneath the skin. S 500 4MATIC models are powered by a 429-horsepower 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine with EQBoost. The 48-volt system serves as an additional electrical source that serves as a starter and generator for the vehicle. In addition, the S 580 4MATIC will be available with a 496-horsepower twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine with EQBoost. In the future, the S-Class will be available in a plug-in hybrid, along with an all-electric EQS model.

In an improvement in overall maneuverability. You can opt for the available rear-axle steering. The steering angle has been set at ten degrees at the rear axle, giving the S-Class a turning radius of under 36 feet – almost the same as a compact car.

All of these advanced functions equal our showcase of the latest technology and engineering from Mercedes-Benz – the 2021 S-Class. Contact us at Mercedes-Benz of Plano to become one of the first in the state of the Metroplex to own or lease one.
