When AMG introduces a Black Series model, it tells the world that nothing else will ever be equal to it. It is a track-inspired upgrade that transforms the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe into a car worthy of the Circuit of The Americas or the Texas Motor Speedway infield road course.
Inspiration for the AMG GT Black Series comes from its race cars. The lower center of gravity and ground effects strikes fear on to the road. All around, the aerodynamics helps keep the AMG GT Black Series planted at all times.
Along with aerodynamics comes weight savings. The hood is carbon fiber, as is the ground effects and rear spoiler. It also features optimal air intakes to keep the engine cool under fire.
Underneath the hood is the most powerful AMG V8 production engine of all time. All told, this 720 horsepower Handcrafted engine was designed for fast times around the track. In fact, this car tackled the Nurburgring Nordschleife course in times under six minutes and forty-nine seconds. The AMG GT Black Series can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in 3.1 seconds and reach 124 MPG in just nine seconds. The top speed on this car is 202 MPH.
Everything on the AMG GT Black Series is derived from its motorsports efforts on the IMSA circuit. The bearings on the upper and lower wishbones of the rear axle is a prime example of the input from the track on to this road car.
