When Your Starter is Acting Weird

In an ideal world, your car or truck is going to always be reliable. You will be able to count on it to start on you and perform well. The bad news is that even with all of the maintenance, your vehicle might fail on you in ways that include your starter.

Fortunately, components like the starter are going to have signs that they are starting to fail such as the oil soaking sign. Given that the starter is located at the bottom of the engine, it is likely to get soaked. When the starter gets soaked, there is very little life remaining, and it is time to get a new starter.

Another thing to check for when it comes to a failing starter is the solenoid. If the solenoid is malfunctioning, then the starter is not going to be able to engage the flywheel and enable cranking.
