2026 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan

Performance

The 2026 E 350 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with mild-hybrid technology. It will put down 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The 2026 E 450 is upgraded to a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine with hybrid assist. Power reaches 375 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission is standard with these two engines. The 4MATIC® all-wheel-drive system is available on the E 350 and standard on the E 450.   

The all-new AMG® E 53 Hybrid sedan takes an AMG®-enhanced 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six-cylinder engine and adds a 120-kW permanently synchronous electric motor and a 400-volt, 28.6-kWh battery. In all, this puts out 577 horsepower (604 hp with RACESTART®) and 553 pound-feet of torque. This engine is mated to an AMG® SPEEDSHIFT®® multi-clutch nine-speed transmission that uses a wet start-off clutch in place of a torque converter for a quicker response to accelerator pedal activity. The AMG® E 53 Hybrid features seven AMG® DYNAMIC SELECT drive programs, including “Electric” and “Battery Hold.” It has AMG® Performance 4MATIC® fully variable all-wheel drive, AMG® RIDE CONTROL steel-spring suspension with adaptive adjustable damping, and active rear axle steering.

Exterior

A mix of classic and contemporary touches, the 2026 E-Class retains its classic profile.  The body surfacing appears organic, with multiple compound curves and virtually no edges. The radiator grille is deeper and broader than the previous model, flanked by redesigned LED headlamps. The grille edge surround can be illuminated, signaling its arrival.   

At the rear, the LED taillights are horizontal and narrow. You are fine if you mistake this for a coupe. The roofline and trunk lid will indicate otherwise. It is still the four-door sedan that continues to set the standard for all others in its class.   

AMG® models add more aggression with unique vertical-bar grilles, exclusive wheel sets, and aerodynamic add-ons to keep performance under control.

Interior

The cabin is one of the finest examples of superb Mercedes-Benz craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail. Occupants are treated to elegantly tailored upholstery, hand-fitted to the sumptuously supportive seats. These are complemented by a rich palette of colors and two sew patterns. Trim options include natural-grain wood, deep piano black, or a modern woven metallic fabric.  

The dashboard incorporates the best digital technology with a strong driver orientation, as evidenced by the configurable driver display. The cabin is designed for comfort, further enhanced in AMG®® versions with sport seating. LED lighting all around sets the mood for your journey.   

Up to five passengers will enjoy the ride inside the 2026 E-Class. Front seat occupants have access to an available suite of spa-like elements that can team up to offer a soothing or invigorating massage while subtly infusing fragrance into the filtered, purified, and ionized cabin air.  

Technology

The 14.4-inch center multimedia touchscreen’s portrait format offers numerous advantages, especially for navigation. It is powered by the latest MBUX (Mercedes‑Benz User Experience) infotainment system. A third MBUX Superscreen is available for front seat passengers to view their own information or entertainment options.   

The third-generation MBUX adds more advanced AI for quicker responses to your natural voice. The optional Head-Up Display helps keep key driving info closer to your natural line of sight. In addition, a Biometric Fingerprint Scanner has been added for MBUX Profile Authentication on all 2026 E-Class sedans.  

AMG® models add exclusive menu items, such as “AMG® Performance,” which let the driver call up a wide range of data with a tap of the finger, including engine output, lateral acceleration, power distribution of the fully variable 4MATIC® all-wheel drive, tire pressure, and fluid temperatures, among other readings.
