Road & Track recently tested the 2026 AMG® GLE 63 S Coupe 4MATIC® and came away praising it for being properly fun and enjoyable while also being just unique enough compared to its competition.
Amazing Power and Performance
Mercedes-AMG®® has put a hand-built twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 under the hood, producing 603 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. Mercedes claims that with the standard Race Start launch control, you can get from 0-60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. However, Car and Driver, in previous performance testing, was able to get to 60 in only 3.4 seconds. The vehicle’s 9-speed automatic transmission helps to keep things civilized until you’re ready to start pulling the paddles on the steering wheel for full manual control. This makes the GLE 63 S Coupe a real threat to supercars everywhere.
