Performance

Three different engine options power the GLE Coupe, each equipped with a Mild Hybrid system that includes an Integrated Starter Generator to improve fuel efficiency, reduce engine wear, and enhance overall refinement. With the Hybrid Starter Generator, engineers paired the engines with a 48-volt Lithium-Ion battery that supplies power to components such as the water pump, A/C compressor, and others that were previously belt-driven. The GLE 450 features a 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic transmission, while the two AMG® models are equipped with an AMG® SPEEDSHIFT® TCT 9-speed transmission.

The GLE 450 4MATIC® features a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 with the Mild Hybrid Drive system. The inline-6 puts out a total of 375 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. This helps make the vehicle capable of achieving 0-60 times in 5.3 seconds.

When it comes to power and performance in a special package, nothing quite compares to an AMG® Mercedes-Benz. The AMG® 53 4MATIC® offers impressive straight-line speed, handling in corners, and braking. Powering the AMG® 53 is an AMG®-enhanced 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with Hybrid Assist, producing 429 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. With the added EQ Boost of 21 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque for various driving situations, the AMG® 53 4MATIC® accelerates to 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds.

The GLE flagship is the AMG® GLE 63 S 4MATIC®, which delivers thrilling power and torque from a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that provides owners with 603 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. Like every other GLE, the 48-volt EQ Boost feature adds an extra 21 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque to ensure efficient power delivery without interruption. According to Car and Driver, the GLE 63 S can accelerate to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, a level of performance typically associated with supercars.

Enhancements to the 4MATIC® all-wheel drive system enable greater torque transfer between the front and rear. A new longitudinal transfer case reduces friction losses and features a closed oil circuit for self-cooling. The GLE 4MATIC® models also include a ”transparent hood” that activates in off-road mode. Below five mph, it displays a view underneath the vehicle. Between five and twelve mph, the system displays the view ahead.

Exterior

The 2026 GLE Coupe comes standard with LED High-Performance headlights, featuring the characteristic “light flare” that Mercedes-Benz headlights are known for. The available MULTIBEAM LED headlights with four light points provide even greater visibility benefits. The rear taillights display a subtle LED design that is attractive and easily recognizable as a Mercedes-Benz GLE from any distance.

The GLE 450 features 20-inch AMG® wheels, AMG® Line Exterior, and a Panorama roof. The AMG® 53 comes standard with 21-inch AMG® twin 5-spoke wheels, while the AMG® 63 S has unique 22-inch AMG® multi-spoke wheels. All models are available with various wheel options ranging from 20  to 22 inches.

Interior

A place where the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE really excels is in interior quality and size. Behind the second row of seats, you’ll find 27.5 cubic feet of cargo space, rising to 63.2 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down. This is quite a bit of space for a vehicle designed to have a sportier look with the raked C-pillar. Most vehicles with a coupe-like rear tend to lose a significant amount of cargo capacity compared to their SUV-based siblings. The GLE Coupe does not have this problem.

MANUFAKTUR® Signature interior upholstery options include Truffle Brown Nappa leather, Yacht Blue Nappa leather, and Carmine Red Nappa leather. Standard across the range is a 64-color ambient lighting system that lets you change the interior mood while driving at night, as well as up to four zones of climate control.

Technology

The theme of clean elegance extends to the interior, where high-definition digital screens seemingly float above a sleek, compound-curve wing-like lower dash that flows smoothly into the clutter-free, control-free center console. Rounded square vents continue the flight-inspired theme, drawing inspiration from aircraft nacelles. The driver’s 12.3-inch high-resolution LCD screen displays clear, customizable information. The 11.9-inch central touchscreen integrates seamlessly into the center console, angling toward the driver while remaining visible to all.

The latest third-generation MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) operating system powers high-definition screens, offering an attractive look while clearly displaying information and controls in an organized manner. The must-see-it-to-believe-it MBUX Augmented Reality Head-up display is an available feature. The “Hey, Mercedes” voice assistant uses advanced algorithms that continually learn the user’s preferences and wishes, to the point where it almost seems to anticipate their commands.

All GLE Coupe models feature standard wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, in-car Wi-Fi, USB-C charging ports, biometric authentication, a wireless charger with NFC pairing, Bluetooth® hands-free calling and audio streaming, and more.

One of the main features of the GLE Coupe is the impressive Burmester® 3D Sound System* with 15 speakers and 710 watts of power, delivering some of the most immersive and powerful sound experiences available.
